Assists the Supervisor, Environmental Health and Safety in the planning and oversight of the Districts Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) program; assists in developing policies and procedures relevant to EHS; provides training and increases awareness of health and safety requirements; coordinates and performs a variety of EHS functions, including, but not limited, to occupational health and safety, hazardous materials management, hazardous waste management, radiation safety, emergency response management, and industrial hygiene; assists in the implementation and evaluation of EHS services.
To be eligible for this position, you must meet and provide evidence of the following minimum qualifications:
Experience: Four years of experience performing technical aspects of institutional health and safety management programs and hazardous materials (HAZMAT), including program coordination.
NOTE: o For work experience, a year is defined as equivalent to 40 hours per week for 12 months.
Education: Equivalent to a bachelors degree in chemistry, environmental science or a related field.
Only coursework completed at, and degrees awarded by, accredited institutions recognized by the U.S. Department of Education will be considered as satisfying the minimum qualifications. Coursework and degrees that are completed outside of the United States are required to have transcripts evaluated (evaluation to U.S. equivalency and a course by course analysis) by an appropriate U.S. credentials evaluation service.
