Lean Engineer I – Huntsville, AL (1 804841)
Where you'll work...
BASF's Catalysts division is seeking a Lean Engineer III for the Huntsville, AL. As part of the Lean Implementation team for the site, you will coordinate and further develop and support the roll-out of the Operational Excellence journey by leading and managing 5S events, Kaizens, Value Stream Mappings to help relevant departments with problem solving and facilitation. Additionally, you will provide support to various teams at the site with projects, investigations into process upsets, and audits related to Lean/Quality/Environment.

Formula for Success
Your education in Engineering combined with your previous work experience in Engineering, Operations, or a related function in a manufacturing environment will be key as you individually lead Operational Excellence events such as, Kaizen events, process mapping, Kan Ban implementation, etc.
Leveraging your Lean expertise, you will perform daily Lean activities such as, but not limited to, Gemba Walks, Visual Management implementation, auditing areas with radar charts, and updating site leadership on progress and results.
Your excellent presentation skills will be key as you will regularly present to Site Leadership and other groups the benefits and challenges of an effectively run Operational Excellence program at the site level.
Leveraging your knowledge of Operational Excellence improvement processes in one or more of the following areas: Plant Optimization, Maintenance, Quality, EHS, Lean Operation , you will manage technical aspects of the processes in the area in order to enhance EHS performance, quality, throughput, and yield.
Utilizing your strong customer and supplier relationship management experience, you will p rovide support in managing supplier relationships and Certificate of Analysis management from new suppliers and supplier audits.
Engaging across the organization, you will use your broad knowledge of operations, process and mechanical equipment, and automation concepts to lead in a changing environment and to foster team collaboration.
