The Woodshop Coordinator oversees the Carpenter Center woodshop which is used by students, Teaching Assistants (TA) and faculty in the Department of Visual and Environmental Studies. This position is responsible for hiring, scheduling and training woodshop monitors. Reporting to the Manager of Photographic Services, this position collaborates with the Studio Coordinator serves as a critical team member of the studio staff.. This position establishes safety protocol to insure compliance with Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) as well as OSHA regulations. Works closely with faculty to insure quality of student's creative experience in and outside of the classroom.

3 years experience working with machine shop safety protocol.
2 years working with students in an academic environment.
-Working knowledge of mechanical tools and their use. -Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are important. -Ability to work with a diverse audience of varying numbers and experience levels. -3-5 years professional fabrication experience and familiarity with contemporary studio art practice a plus. - Bachelor of Arts is a plus.
