The primary focus of the duties for the Manager position is to manage and oversee all of wastewater treatment plant operations in assigned area. Supports and assists in the growth and development objectives of the company.
Responsibilities will include-
Provide management, direction, coordination and oversight of the wastewater facilities in assigned territory including treatment plants, collection systems, pump stations, and disposal areas owned or operated by Aqua America.
Ensure that all facilities operate in compliance with regulatory permits. Manage the implementation of compliance tracking systems to ensure proper management oversight and environmental compliance.
Review daily operating data and interface with wastewater treatment operations personnel to facilitate process control monitoring or changes at all facilities.
Manage and coordinate the use of all personnel to achieve efficiency. Identify and implement improvements in system operations to continually enhance quality and optimize operations.
Oversee all sampling and testing programs necessary for compliance with regulatory agencies. Direct submission of Discharge Monitoring Reports and Groundwater Monitoring Well reports required by State permits.
Responsible for wastewater permit renewals, including the review and comment on permit modifications where applicable. Assist with development and submission of state Public Utilities Commission reports and submissions including the Long-Term Infrastructure Improvement Plan (LTIIP).
Develop and implement annual capital budget, assist with rate case filings for the Company, as well as assist in all settlement negotiations.
Assist with business development opportunities including development and due diligence regarding potential wastewater acquisitions.
Assist in the analysis and development of wastewater Assist Customer Service and Billing/Collections Departments to resolve customer issues.
Perform other tasks or duties as assigned.
The successful candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in Management, Engineering, or the Sciences. Applicant must have at least 10 years’ experience in utility management and operations of water or wastewater facilities. An advanced degree plus 7 years’ experience may be considered.
Possession of the highest-level certification [both a Pennsylvania Class A,E Wastewater license with subclasses 1,2,3,4] required to operate Water/Wastewater facilities in state.
Requires proficiency with personal computer including, Microsoft Office Suite.
