Manages the functioning of the facility systems including mechanical, fire/life safety, building security and general facility maintenance. Develops, implements and monitors company environmental, health and safety programs and policies to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental, health, and safety regulations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Develops and manages budgets for Facilities and SH&E.
Interfaces with building owner to ensure facility is properly maintained and that issues are addressed in a timely manner.
Designs, estimates and coordinates any renovations to the facility. Responsible for completing these activities on schedule and within budget.
Manages contractors for facilities renovation projects including HVAC, electrical and plumbing.
Manages relationships with key facilities contractors such as cleaners, security provider, electricians, plumbers, etc.
Maximizes efficiency by analyzing layout of equipment and general office space, workflow and assembly methods.
Ensures proper operation of all aspects of a building to create an optimal environment for employees to function.
EHS (Environmental, Health & Safety):
Implements all CMC corporate SH&E goals and policies.
Leads all safety-focused teams, responsibilities include: development of team goals, recruiting team members, coordinating all required training for team members and scheduling meetings.
Maintains safety equipment inventory, performs periodic safety inspections, monitors hazardous waste removal vendors, and may assist in consolidating hazardous wastes.
Interacting with a variety of departments, conducts training in emergency response and hazardous material handling.
Monitors environmental compliance and maintains liaison with appropriate regulatory agencies.
Recommends corrective action where environmental health and safety hazards exist.
Interacts with others in the administration of the worker’s compensation program and the implementation of workplace ergonomics and program solutions.
Monitors industrial health compliance.
Management of new chemicals, SDS documentation, and customer inquiries
Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education and/or Experience: Associates level degree in engineering or Environmental Health, Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Safety, or equivalent related degree required. Three to five years experience in facility management required and experience directly related to implanting EHS programs and procedures a plus.
Computer Skills: Microsoft Office including Microsoft Project. Expertise in CAD software necessary for developing and maintaining facilities layouts and designing machine guarding.
Technical Skills/Knowledge: Knowledge of basic SH&E procedures via technical degree and/or applicable work experience. Must have understanding of OSHA, EPA and DOT regulations, but need not be an expert. Must have a good understanding of building construction methods, plumbing and electrical work, but need not be an expert.
Other skills and abilities – Demonstrate ability to manage multiple task/projects and solve difficult technical problems in a timely manner.
