The Chemours Washington Works facility located in Parkersburg, WV has an Occupational Health and Industrial Hygiene Leader position available. This is a highly visible, key role within the company in the Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) function. This position will report to the site EHS Unit Manager.
The primary responsibility of this role is to lead and manage the Industrial Hygiene (IH) and Occupational Health (OH) programs and serve as the company’s subject matter expert (SME) at Washington Works. The individual will develop, implement, and manage a comprehensive IH Strategic Framework to ensure that all potential employee exposures to chemicals, noise, and other physical hazards are assessed, managed and documented to ensure compliance with OSHA regulatory requirements. The IH Strategic Framework is linked to the overall Management System for the Environment, Health and Safety. This position is also accountable to develop personnel capability, to accomplish IH/OH objectives for the site and company.
Key Responsibilities include (but not limited to):
Provide hands-on expertise to implement and maintain industrial hygiene standards at the site.
Ensure that IH risk assessments and monitoring are performed and documented. (PDCA)
Assess site OH/IH needs and help develop action plans to address gaps that are identified.
Develop OH/IH resources.
Liaise with Health Services to ensure OH/IH/medical compliance.
Manage regulatory programs for the site (e.g. Hearing Conservation, HAZCOM, TSCA, Respiratory protection, PPE, IAQ, etc.).
Identify engineering controls, personal protective equipment and work practices to minimize occupational health risks.
Use various IH tools and systems to assess potential health risks, and focus resources where needed.
Participate in site and corporate audits.
Provide specialized knowledge in occupational health (industrial hygiene) systems to ensure that EHS activities or violations do not result in interruption of manufacturing processes from regulatory authorities.

To be qualified for this role, you must possess the following:
Bachelor's degree in industrial hygiene, engineering, chemistry, safety, or related science.
Minimum 5 years working in industrial hygiene with at least 2 years in a chemical or petrochemical environment.
Demonstrated ability to work well with all organizational and functional levels.
Strong written and verbal communication.
Demonstrated ability to work with teams.
Self-motivated with strong initiative and bias for action.
Uncompromising drive for excellence and willingness to escalate issues as needed.
Proficient with Microsoft Office.
Proficient with statistical analysis.
The following skill sets are preferred:
Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH).
Radiation Safety Officer Certification preferred.
