POWER Engineers, Inc. is seeking a Senior Air Quality Project Engineer for the Air Quality and Related Environmental Group in our Houston West Office. The Senior Air Quality Project Engineer manages air quality projects and works with teams on complex environmental projects. In addition to executing project work, the Senior Air Quality Project Manager is involved in business development activities and proposal writing. The successful candidate will be able to conduct and manage a myriad of air quality permitting and compliance projects primarily for industrial clients.
Roles and Responsibilities
Develops business for POWER by networking through face-to-face visits with potential clients and participating in professional trade associations by attending conferences, tradeshows, and webinars
Supports business development activities by helping to develop internal marketing materials and contributes technical articles to POWER publications
Assists industrial clients in determining federal and state air quality regulatory applicability and develops strategies and systems for compliance
Advocates for POWER’s clients, keeping them informed of pertinent regulatory matters and other issues that impact their business
Manages projects related to air quality permit applications, Title V operating permits, compliance reports, and plan approvals including project financial and resource management
Calculates emissions and evaluates air emissions control technologies
Conducts environmental compliance audits
Interfaces with State air quality agencies and EPA on behalf of industrial clients
Works collaboratively with engineering firms, equipment vendors, other 3rd parties (e.g., laboratories, stack testing companies) and attorneys in support of clients’ air quality needs
Develops various plans and documents in support of clients’ regulatory requirements
Participates in public meetings and hearings on behalf of clients
Performs and ensures QA/QC of technical work
Mentors POWER’s technical staff
Prepares proposals for environmental support
Writes and assembles papers and/or presentations for technical conferences
Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related science
Ten to fifteen (10-15) years of relevant experience
Excellent interpersonal and communications skills including report writing, oral presentations, and direct verbal communication
Experience in interpreting and developing compliance strategies for State and Federal air quality regulations
Availability to travel up to 20% of the time
Valid Texas driver's license
Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related science
Prior environmental consulting experience
P.E. certification or equivalent
