The City of Elmhurst seeks qualified candidates that take pride in their work to perform skilled mechanical, motor maintenance, repair of potable water pumping facilities, sanitary lift stations and storm water pumping stations.
Perform water distribution system sampling; Respond to off-hour on-call situations.
Perform regular checks at water pumping facilities, take data readings, chemical measurements and maintain chemical feed apparatus.
Perform regular checks at sanitary lift stations and storm water pumping stations.
Perform SCADA monitoring and date point changes as required.
Monitor and perform regular maintenance on sanitary sewer and storm water lift stations.
Test and maintain stand-by generators; Properly maintain & operate equipment.
Rebuild, repair and maintain pumps, drive shafts, motors and related equipment.
Complete Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) work orders on time.
Responsible for asset management updates within CMMS for water treatment and pumping stations.
Assist department with snow and ice removal operations as required.
Comply with compliance standards and safety.
Promote & maintain responsive employee, customer and community relations.
Possess high school diploma or GED.
Minimum 2 years performing operation maintenance of pumping systems, repair to pumps, control systems and mechanical and electrical equipment.
Ability to work independently as well as a positive, productive team member.
Recognize and assess problems and perform repairs.
Desire IEPA Public Water Supply Class C Operator License upon hire but must obtain within 1 year of hire date.
Desire IEPA Collection System Operator certification upon hire but must obtain within 1 year of hire.
Desire IEPA Class 4 Wastewater Operator Certification upon hire or obtain within 1 year of hire date.
Prefer working knowledge of Computerized Management Maintenance System (CMMS) including tablet data management.
Ability to obtain a CDL Class A driver's license with endorsements within 1 year of hire.
Hiring Range: $25.09 - $32.97/hour DOQ plus excellent benefit package.
Must respond to overtime calls and snow & ice removal operations.
