Manages and directs the operations and maintenance of the City of Kalispell Advanced Wastewater Treatment & Biological Nutrient Removal Facility, including pre-treatment program and laboratory operations. Responsibilities require administrative, technical, mechanical, supervisory skills and knowledge of treatment plant operations, permit adherence, sampling and analysis, and analytical reporting to ensure compliance with State and Federal Regulations. Works under the general supervision of Public Works Director.
Provides guidance, directions, training, instruction, and technical assistance for plant operations to assistant plant manager, pre-treatment coordinator, chemists, operators, and other personnel as assigned by the Public Works Director.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (Education and Experience):
Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, microbiology, environmental science or a closely related field and one year of laboratory experience; post, and
Four (4) years of experience in the operation and maintenance of wastewater treatment systems, including two (2) years of supervisory experience, or
Any equivalent combination of education and/or experience that demonstrates a minimum of 6 years of cold-climate operational experience in a wastewater treatment facility of equal or greater capacity having a BNR process of equal or greater complexity to that currently in use at the Kalispell AWWTP.
