This internship will primarily focus on conducting baseline industrial hygiene surveys and performing industrial hygiene sampling as outlined by the Regional Industrial Hygiene Manager. The internship could also include the following industrial hygiene/safety activities:
Completion of Operational Integrity related corrective actions identified in assessments or audits
Inspections of eye washes/safety showers, personal protective equipment, fume hood operations, chemical storage
Monitoring for heat stress and noise
Data entry of industrial hygiene information
Chemical Management Assessments
Analyzing sample results and writing up reports inclusive of observations and recommendations
These tasks require the intern to effectively communicate with their mentor and other Operational Integrity team members about the expected work, progress toward completing that work, and any issues that may arise. This internship will involve extensive time in the field and travel to various locations. It is essential for the intern to support a safe and efficient work environment.
North America Operational Integrity Team – Mentor to be assigned
Positions located in Chicago/Indiana, New Jersey, New Orleans and Texas
Education: Industrial Hygiene or Environmental Health majors. Must be enrolled as a full-time student in a degree granting program, or graduated in the past 12 months from an accredited institution. Internship period cannot exceed 12 months past graduation. Minimum of a 3.0 cumulative grade point average. Please Note: Before interview selection, you will need to provide unofficial transcripts to verify GPA and full-time enrollment.
Languages: Fluency in English is a must; knowledge of other languages is a plus
