The National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) is seeking experienced candidate for NAHB’s Environmental Policy Department focusing on federal and state wetlands regulations and permitting programs. Qualified candidates must be familiar with the Clean Water Act’s Section 404 federal wetlands permitting program, including the jurisdictional delineation process, wetland permitting process, compensatory mitigation requirements, and related federal agencies guidance documents and policies. Candidates would also be expected to be able manage additional regulatory issues as assigned under other federal environmental statutes beyond the Clean Water Act.
Qualified individuals will have a strong knowledge of regulatory and legislative processes; excellent demonstrated written, verbal and analytical skills. Candidate must be able to work independently and be able to manage multiple projects and meet simultaneous deadlines.
A minimum of three years of environmental policy experience in a federal, state or local regulatory agency, or an equivalent private sector position is required. A Master’s degree or Ph.D. in Environmental Science, Environmental Policy, Environmental Law, Environmental Engineering, Natural Resources, or comparable experience and education is required.
