The Orange Water and Sewer Authority (OWASA) is a community-owned utility providing the Towns of Chapel Hill and Carrboro and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with high quality and reliable water, wastewater, and reclaimed water services through responsible and creative stewardship of the resources we manage. Our team seeks a dynamic and enthusiastic team player to fill the Maintenance Coordinator position.
The ideal candidate will be an action-oriented strategic-thinker with exceptional communication skills and proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office. Experience using a maintenance management and scheduling software is desired. Interpersonal skills are a must as is the ability to fulfill the mission and goals of the organization while ensuring safe work practices are followed.
This position works with team members to provide a well-organized and strategic approach to performing maintenance on water, sewer and reclaimed water facilities to ensure that maintenance and asset management activities are on track with established goals. This position is essential in establishing maintenance schedules, analyzing trend data and generating summary reports using computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) software. Provides a key role in OWASA’s asset management program by ensuring information contained within the CMMS database is accurate, complete and up-to-date.

Qualified candidates must have an Associate’s Degree in maintenance management, industrial systems or a closely related field of study with three to five years of experience in a maintenance environment. A valid NC Driver’s License is required.
