The Dublin San Ramon Services District, a special district in the San Francisco Bay Area, is in search of a Senior Electrician. The salary range for this position is $8,673 to $10,542 per month with a generous benefit and paid time off package.
POSITION AND IDEAL CANDIDATE
Under general direction of the Supervisor of the Electrical Maintenance Division, plans, coordinates, and implements a comprehensive electrical installation, maintenance, and repair program; provides lead direction to assigned staff; sets priorities and directs the work of assigned staff on a project or day-to-day basis; performs a variety of installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical equipment; maintains District facilities, Wastewater Treatment Plant, water distribution system, DERWA, and LAVWMA electrical equipment; and performs related work as required.
The ideal candidate will have at least five (5) years of recent industrial experience in a water/wastewater facility, other utility or manufacturing industry including motor controls; VFD's; soft starters; standby diesel generators; cogeneration; uninterruptable power supplies; 21kV, 2.4kV, and 480V switchgear; LED lighting; oil-filled transformers; protective relaying; and power monitoring systems. In addition to the essential functions, the incumbent will have recent experience providing lead direction to assigned staff; strong interpersonal and communication skills necessary to maintain positive relationships with internal and external customers; the ability to organize preventive maintenance schedules; the ability to facilitate meetings; and possess project management skills. Experience with asset management, electrical safety programs, hazardous energy control programs, SCADA systems, and environmental control systems is desirable.
Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth (12th) grade and three (3) years of responsible work experience, equivalent to that of a DSRSD Electrician II, in skilled electrical maintenance and repair including direct experience at a water, wastewater treatment, or similar facility and experience working with co-generation or other alternate energy sources is required.
Possession of a General Electrician Certification from the State of California or California Water Environment Association Electrical/Instrumentation Technician Grade II certification is required upon appointment.
Possession of a valid, California Class C driver's license is required.
