The Environmental Engineer will be trained and obtain practical experience in the delivery of environmental engineering professional services drawing on knowledge acquired during academic study. Scientific and engineering principles will be use to achieve PEER’s goals and objectives to support senior engineers and project managers. The Fundamentals of Engineering certification is required or the candidate must be on track to take and pass the certification. Additionally, it is expected that the candidate with qualify for and earn the Professional Engineers license.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
Under supervision, prepare plans, specifications, schedules, task management plans, designs, calculations, and cost estimates
Assist senior engineers and project managers with environmental programs.
Assist with preparation of permit applications.
Assist with preparation of responses to regulatory agencies on engineering designs, wetland permits, forest conservation plans, and sediment and erosion control facilities.
Assist engineers and project managers with engineering drawings review, GIS applications, and utilization of software tools and databases where appropriate and requested.
Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering or related field, with a minimum of 0 - 5 years of related experience. Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering would be a plus.
Must have knowledge of energy management, water quality management, hazardous waste management, air quality management, policy and impacts of climate change is highly desired.
Must have knowledge of environmental remediation such as site investigation and remediation, soil and groundwater sampling, monitoring well installation and pilot studies.
Must have knowledge of presentation software such as Adobe Photoshop.
Must have proficiency in MS Office Suite.
AutoCAD and GIS knowledge highly desirable.
Must be knowledgeable of Microsoft Project Management or similar management and scheduling tools; Strong analytical skills relating to data review, analysis and evaluation.
Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills are required.
