The City of Grand Island’s Wastewater Treatment Plant is looking for a qualified professional to fill their Wastewater Plant Engineer position. The Wastewater Plant Engineer manages, directs and coordinates the activities of the Wastewater Division including a wastewater treatment plant and the collection system.
The ideal candidate will have five years of progressively responsible experience in wastewater utility operations and/or engineering design with extensive highly complex processes and facilities, including three years of supervisory responsibility. A bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering field is required. The following is required:
Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) in the State of Nebraska at the time of application. Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) by another state will be accepted in lieu of this requirement providing the applicant is registered by the State of Nebraska by the completion of the introductory period (6 months).
Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid Class IV Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator Certificate within six months of date of employment.
Possession of, or ability to obtain and maintain, an appropriate, valid Nebraska driver’s license.
